About This Event

The first in an annual lecture series on Sacred Scripture tailored for adult faith formation, available to parishes across the diocese. This year's theme is "Covenant." Covenant, the most fundamental concept in the Bible, is often not understood very well. I will explain the ingredients of covenants, their social function in the Ancient Near East, why God chose them as the basis for salvation history, and how the New Covenant fulfills what is promised in the Old.
